ThroneOut has caused quite a
stir, with appearances ranging from the UK's Edwina Currie show on BBC
Radio 5 Live, to Australian "drivetime" radio and Chilean TV. We
have also been widely featured on the web...
The Telegraph (UK National Newspaper) - Sunday, 20
Feb 2005
"I'VE NO IDEA WHY ANYBODY WOULD WANT TO BUY ANY OF THIS
STUFF"
"For those who have failed to clear their crockery cupboards of redundant royal mementos from Prince Charles's first marriage, there are also opportunities to make money. Among them is the website www.throneout.com, offering a "Charles and Diana Mug Conversion" guide, which advises putting a Camilla Parker Bowles sticker over Diana's face."

The Guardian (UK National Newspaper) - Tuesday, 15

"MORE MONARCHY MERCHANDISE"
"For royal fans on a tight budget, the loveable anti-monarchy site Throne Out explains how to convert a mug commemorating Charles and Diana's wedding into an updated 2005 version in just a few minutes. As the site points out, you'd look a right loser with a mug celebrating the prince's unhinged, dead ex-wife on your shelf."

The Times (UK National Newspaper) - Saturday, 12

"NEW MUGS FOR MUGS"
"An early contender for the best Charles and Camilla memorabilia must be the anti-monarchist Throneout site. Its Charles and Di mug conversion kit is a transfer to paste on your 1981 teacups so you won’t need new ones."

Philadelphia Daily News (USA Daily Newspaper)

"HOW THE NET'S NOW DRIVING THE NEWS
PRINCE CHARLES OUTED, SORT OF. Prince Charles was forced to deny a
story that itself hasn't been printed in the British press. Where has it
been printed? In cyberspace, of course.
There is a court order prohibiting the press in the UK from running
the allegations of an ex-member of the royal staff, but that sure didn't
stop sites like throneout.com from telling cybersurfers that the
allegations involve a case of rape, and separately, a male member of the
royal family having been caught in the sack with a male member of the
staff. Presumably Prince Charles is that royal.
How powerful is the Internet? Prince Charles had to issue a denial
saying the unprinted rumors were 'ludicrous' and 'untrue.'"

Metro (UK
National Daily Newspaper) - Monday, 10 Nov 2003
"TALE HAS SPREAD AROUND THE WORLD
DETAILS of the allegations surrounding Prince Charles
and his alleged encounter have not been published in Britain. But the
foreign press and websites of every description have revealed lurid
details of the scandal. In America, the Washington Post and CBS News
published online reports while the New York Times put an explicit
description on its website before the story was killed off by panicking
editors. Everyone, it would seem, loves a royal scandal. In Australia, the
Sydney Morning Herald told readers 'Revealed: The rumour that rocked the
Royal Family' while Italy's Corriere della Sera ran a story, 'Ticking
Timebomb under the throne'. Even India's Hindustan Times, not a newspaper
to indulge in tabloid gossip, went for the royal tittle-tattle. The
story, as expected, exploded all over the Internet, while republican
websites have had a field day. One, Throne Out, axed everything else on
its site to cover the latest on Charles."
The Guardian (UK
National Newspaper)

"However, if all
this deference is getting to you, try the outstanding republican site at
www.throneout.freeserve.co.uk, with its "Chocolate Starfish"
awards for sycophancy, and the Queen Mum obituary. "Since the Queen
Mother has done nothing of note that we or anyone under 120 years of age
can remember, we have decided to publish her obituary now as it's pretty
unlikely to change before the inevitable happens."
No OBE for them then."

"Here's our guide
to the best sites on Britain's royalty." (ThroneOut link included )
The BBC

"Throne Out is a more aggressive, confrontational republican site which advocates direct action against the monarchy. Their website can be found at www.throneout.freeserve.co.uk Warning! This site includes strong language and some
people may find its contents offensive."
The Independent (UK

ThroneOut is incuded as one of the rated links.

"Ever feel like being throne out?
If you're feeling a little stresed about all or any of the above, help is at hand. If all this is just too depressing, log onto the Throne Out website (www.throneout.com) and have a little fun as you read scurrilous articles querying the parentage of the current inhabitants of Buckingham Palace etc."
Sheffield Hallam University

"..Then for balance, see the very unofficial anti-monarchy site, wittily entitled Throneout, which will lead you to some serious republican thinking, and also some scandalous material...
